We Support
Cambodia
After becoming a Christian at SCCCT, Donna Byham felt called to serve God in South East Asia and has proven herself as a missionary over the past 8 years. She oversights a boys’ home ‘Joshua House’ and a girls’ home ‘Deborah House’ with sees long-term discipleship of young men and women as a key part of re-building this violence-ravaged nation.
Bolivia
Bolivia is the poorest country in South America, but like many developing countries there is great potential to reach those who have not heard the gospel. Our church supports the local YWAM base, which is the only place where local people can afford to be trained for full-time Christian service.
Burma
Our Burmese EmpowerAsia Board is looking to plant a whole new work in the northwestern hills of Burma. We cannot specify the location. It will be aimed at very impoverished Burman Buddhist kids.
Burmese people live under a pressured military regime, with Christian activities not looked upon favourably. 'Empower Asia' boys home is progressing well with a few of the boys now commencing tertiary education. We have also been operating a girls’ preventative prostitution work and a girls home is being established.
Nepal
'Empower Asia' has established a boys home in Kathmandu and a girls home in Pokhara, with about 14 children in each home. The goal is to take in another 10 girls over the next 18 months as well as starting another boys home – training youth to a high spiritual and academic level so they will be Christian leaders in their country.
Argentina
The Harb family is involved in meeting the needs of the poor, envangelism, church planting and mobilizing the body of Christ towards missions. Paul Harb – an evangelist from Wollongong – with his wife Veronica and 3 children are based in Argentinia serving the local community.
India
India will soon be the most populated country with over 1 billion people. "Christ for India" ministry includes a school, an orphanage, a hospital, printing press, library housing 30,000 books, media ministry centre, home for widows, a church, & theological college. It has planted more than 180 churches in the unreached northern parts of India & has sent out over 1,500 leaders. Two churches are being financially supported.
South East Asia
Michael & Bianca Zietsch have been long term members of South Coast City Church Thirroul. They are planning to go to south East Asia to live and minister to impoverished families through Christian Surfers. South East Asia is very accessible to Australia and is largely Hindu by religion. Michael & Bianca have been training for this work for 4 years now and will also be taking their young daughter Jiah.
Zimbabwe
Alan Frank and his family established churches in Zimbabwe. They continue to relate, build and encourage these churches from their home in Griffith (country NSW). The churches there are in great need due to extreme poverty and persecution.
Australia
In Bulli, Woonona and Corrrimal high schools 1000s of young people are hearing gospel presentations every year, communicated in a style they can identify with. This is facilitated through a board of Northern Suburbs churches who employ team leaders within each school. We contribute and participate on this board, as well as providing the opportunity for volunteer teachers to teach in the schools. For more infor visit www.bwcb.org.au. Dozens of other ministries, churches and evangelists are also supported in Australia.
